Sheep Brief

Brief writing project for graphics lll. Everyone else chose very serious 'save the world' type social issues so my partner Sloane Dougherty and I decided we'd do something a little more light-hearted and just enjoy ourselves.

We crafted the book so that between the pages were filled with wool. It ended up being a giant, ridiculous pillow-like book.

Engine customizer

Engine customizer

Evinrude partnered up with their boat venders to extend their customization site. It now incorporates the ability to choose your boat, your boat colour and an engine configuration to match. Creating the most customizable tool on the web for boat buyers. Had to create nine different versions for nine different OEM providers. This proved challenging as each had a different number of colours to select and various combinations. BTTF Teaser

BTTF Teaser

Timed with the Back to the Future date of October 21st, Toyota asked us to create a teaser site to celebrate and pay homage to the classic film. We recreated the dashboard to be as fun, realistic and interactive as possible. Was all in aid of showing off Toyota Mirai's Fueled by the Future campaign. My role in the project was as a UX and UI designer. A Droga5 and Resn team-up project. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Doc and Marty... Have a play here http://toyota-bttf.resn.co.nz/outatime/

FWA Award Design

FWA Award Design

This is the new FWA Hall of Fame award. One of the most prestigious awards in the interactive design industry! The first one is the winner. Since it was for a Hall of fame award, you need 40 FWA awards to qualify and unless your a genious you're going to be well over 30 to get one of these. Was just having a laugh really and joking about how musicians get records as awards and thought up the equivalent for the internet -a floppy disk. Design is based on the 5 1/4 floppy. Made it and it actually looked ok so sent it in. Sent it in with this rationale 'The floppy disk is dear to all of us children of the 80's, the creative leaders of the now and next. ' playing on nostalgia and all that. Did a serious one afterwards, this is the one I was rooting for. Came with this rationale -'Wanted to create an iconic look for the FWA Hall of Fame award. The design is inspired by the internet; how cables are laid out in an infinity shape before going into the ground (http://www.blog.ni9e.com/voices-horizon-documentation/), by the idea of connection and by the physical framing of our screens. Began with a single W, rotated it and the connections made a cool interconnecting shape. Refined it a little to give it a visual illusion effect to allude to the mystery of the intrernet.  Stoked to see how proud other agencies were to receive it! http://fwa.staging.plan8.se/

Poster Designs

Poster Designs

Random poster designs for random things.  The first is an assignment for Art Direction. The brief was to pick a few words from a series of NZ poems given to us and interpret them in a typographic execution.  I chose 'The World is..." because to me that represented endless potential, that anything could happen. Really, I just wanted to express my thought process, my visual process through a multidimensional typeface, whilst telling it through a related medium of my passion for riding.
